When our youngest grandson was about 4 years old, he and our daughter came to visit us. When they got ready to leave, I kissed him on the cheek. He reached up and rubbed his hand across his cheek.

I asked him if he was rubbing Grandma’s kiss off. He looked at me and said, “No, Grandma. I was just rubbing it in.”

My grandson, Sawyer, named his pacifier Lulu. He loved it dearly. When he turned 2, his mother had a heart-to-heart talk with him about it.

“Now, you’re 2 and you’re too big for Lulu,” she said.

He pulled the pacifier out of his mouth, said, “It still fits,” and popped it right back in.

My niece Sheila’s kindergarten class was learning about squares, circles and rectangles.

My sister heard her jumping in her room after she put her to bed. She watched from the doorway for a while as Sheila did jumping jacks and touched her toes.

When my sister asked what she was doing, Sheila said she was getting ready for her class. They were going to be tested on their shapes the next day.
